THEORIES OF HURLON JAMES DULAN II
ORIGIN OF PLANETARY ATMOSPHERE
Question: Where does a planet's atmosphere come from?
Theory: A planet's atmosphere comes from its core. Therefore the composition of its atmosphere depends on the composition of its core. Due to volcanic activity a planet's core is able to release gases which form the planet's atmosphere. This volcanic activity results from thermal heating of the planet's core. The more thermal heating the more volcanic activity and the thicker the atmosphere.
The correlation between volcanic activity and atmosphere was observed in the solar system. Not only in the major planets but also in the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. It was observed that only those planets and moons that had volcanic activity had vibrant atmospheres. Mars once had a thicker atmosphere, however, as its volcanic activity lessened so did its atmosphere.
ABANDONED CITIES IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE
Question: Why are there so many abandoned cities in the Western Hemisphere?
Theory: Climate change caused a shift in the flora, fauna and insect population . This caused an increase in disease and pestilence. For instance, Mesa Verde in southwestern Colorado was probable overrun with mice and other rodents carrying diseases like the Hanta virus. The native American solution to this problem was to become nomadic. It was previously theorized that these people were nomadic to follow the buffalo but another reason is that this was their way of solving the problem of being inundated with rodents. Unlike the Europeans who solved the rodent problem by domesticating cats and inventing mousetraps the Native Americans chose to become mobile.
CLIMATE CHANGE THEORY
QUESTION: Why is the Earth's climate getting warmer?
